Hosting a Business Mixer – Guidelines
The purpose of the Business Mixer is to provide networking opportunities to business
representatives to build business relationships and to make new contacts to expand
marketing venues. The Chamber will coordinate and promote the event to encourage
50-90 business people to attend. The Host will have the opportunity to showcase the
company and make a good impression to the business community.
The Host will:

• Be a member of the Tewksbury Business Association
• Provide the location, visible from the roadway, large enough for 6 tables,
registration area, place for coats and standing room for 20-60* people
• Provide hors d’oeuvres, hot/cold, easy to cut foods for 20-60* people
• Provide free beverages for 20-60* people - preferably beer, wine, soda and water
• Provide event sign at entrance
• Provide a door prize
• Provide pedestrian safe, easy access and free parking for 20-60 vehicles
• Provide a mike and podium (optional)
• Invite his/her business associates at member rate
• Promote the event via his/her business contacts/clients/prospective clients, poster
in location.
• Designate a spokesperson to give a 2 minute welcome talk and could introduce
some company personnel
• Provide a long registration table(s) with 2-3* chairs
• Provide 4-6* additional tables for members’ displays
• Provide decoration for the agreed to theme for a fun event

The TBA will
• Establish the business mixer schedule 3 to 4 months in advance
• Will coordinate and cosponsor with other area Chambers
• Work with the host to establish a theme
• Create a flyer with a theme with driving directions, telephone number and web
address of the host and provide digital copy to the participating Chambers
• Promote the event via TBA mediums including flyer, enewsletter, newsletter,
press release
• Inform the host three days prior to the event the number of anticipated guests and
call the day prior with a more exact count
• Provide the name badges for attendees
• Encourage guests to bring door prizes of $35 minimum value
• Collect business cards to share with host and other chambers
• Staff the registration table and provide greeters to introduce people to new people
• Could provide ice breaker ‘games’
• Provide a roadside event sign to help guide people to the event entrance
• Take pictures for press releases and social media.
