TCS began under a different name—Network Technology Services Associates—in 2001. In 2004, Indy Pommers joined the original founder, Jim Beaucaire, to accelerate the business, and in the process the Company was renamed as The Computer Shrinks.

The need for broad-based on-site computer repair, upgrade and installation is clear—especially to someone like Indy, who has been in the computer industry for years, and is a competent computer user, but quite useless if things go wrong! In fact, the relationship began when Jim's NTS Associates Company was called to install Indy's business network and upgrade to DSL. With that being a success, Jim was later asked to sweep the systems of viruses and repair some damage, and then to consult regarding an "upgrade old" vs. "buy new" decision, and finally to install a wireless network combining PC's and Mac's. As a result of Jim's demonstrated abilities and attitude, the two decided to partner and expand the business. We know that there are a lot of Indys—and worse—out there, and TCS can service them effectively. More Info

Networking Tips

  • Keep in mind that networking is about being genuine and authentic, building trust and relationships, and seeing how you can help others.

  • Ask yourself what your goals are in participating in networking meetings so that you will pick groups that will help you get what you are looking for. Some meetings are based more on learning, making contacts, and/or volunteering rather than on strictly making business connection

  • Visit as many groups as possible that spark your interest. Notice the tone and attitude of the group. Do the people sound supportive of one another? Does the leadership appear competent? Many groups will allow you to visit two times before joining.

  • Hold volunteer positions in organizations. This is a great way to stay visible and give back to groups that have helped you.

  • Become known as a powerful resource for others. When you are known as a strong resource, people remember to turn to you for suggestions, ideas, names of other people, etc. This keeps you visible to them.

  • Call those you meet who may benefit from what you do and vice versa. Express that you enjoyed meeting them, and ask if you could get together and share ideas.

  • Follow through quickly and efficiently on referrals you are given. When people give you referrals, your actions are a reflection on them. Respect and honor that and your referrals will grow.
